Summer is over, and Autumn is nearly upon us! I spent my month working on a few assignments in London and overseas in addition to a wonderful break in the Austrian Alps.
So at the start of August, Vanessa and I headed for Zillertal, Austria for the week. The intention of our holiday was to put ourselves somewhere beautiful and then go for a walk! I am so happy we settled on the Zillertal Valley as our destination, as it proved itself to be unbelievably picturesque and a perfect tonic to the fast-paced London. Naturally my camera was by my side the whole time, and I am happy to share a selection of my holiday snaps.
Once I was back in London I went straight to work with Sadler’s Wells, photographing for the inaugural Sadler’s Wells Young Associates Summer School. This was a mentoring scheme and safe place for young choreographers to experiment with their own ideas and choreographic voices which culminated in a group sharing. I spent two days with the group, and enjoyed sharing the space with all the choreographers. Hopefully we will be seeing more work from these guys in the future. Bellow are a couple of images I captured during my time with the group.
Next up I headed for Bassano del Grappa, Italy for the OperaEstate Festival. Patricia Okenwa, with whom I have worked with on many occasions, was presenting a work as part of the international festival. I was invited along to capture the process and document the piece. The work was set in the beautiful location of a deconsecrated church, and it offered a perfect backdrop for Patricia’s emotionally charged Stabat Mater. You can find more pictures via this link.
Now back in London, I am happy to be back photographing the Rambert dancers, this time for their headshots, which will soon be featured in the Rambert programmes available at all performances! I will be working with Rambert again very soon, joining them on tour to photograph the premiere of Andonis Foniadakis’ new work, Symbiosis. Watch this space.
