Trips home and R&D

Hey again,

So this weekend my girlfriend and I went to visit my family in Essex, swapping the city surrounds for the scenic backdrops of the forests and seasides, albeit for a short period! This served as both a Birthday celebration for my Grandfather who turned 84, and a belated Christmas celebration which my girlfriend (who was in Singapore at the time) could attend. Also there was the added surprise of my Grandfather showing off a medal he had earned for time and service to the RAF. These trips back home are always a breath of fresh air, not only for the company, but also for my grandmother’s exquisite roast dinners!

This week at Rambert we have a ‘Research & Development’ week for the lovely Choreographer and Dancer Patricia Okenwa. These R&D weeks are set aside to physicalise ideas that choreographers are developing, without the immediate pressure of setting material for an end product. It often involves experimenting, and plenty of creative tasks. Having worked with Patricia on many of her other choreographic projects, I am very much looking forward to exploring new ideas, and having a ‘play’ in the studio!

Till next time,

Stephen
